Ecological Art REVIEW Fall 2022

ECOART-SENSORS

  • Sponsored by Fifth Season Gallery

    Introduction:

"First and foremost, we start with the art-maker. He/she makes art for a multitude of reasons: emotional, philosophical, political, monetary, and intellectual. A work's meaning, from the point of view of the artist, is always mixed and multiple. He/she can do art and use art for whatever purpose he/she wishes. Each of us creates our own "system" to incorporate art into our lives.
The perception of a work of art is always filtered through the eyes/ears/intellect/needs/experiences of the viewer. The viewer's/listener's perceived meaning may be similar to that of the art maker, but never identical. We see or hear through who we are. And that is fine.
The art critic is one voice to be brought into the conversation, but not the sole determiner. The market also has a say, but never the final one."/Stephan Brumberg and Carol Ingall/Statement/September 2022
