    "ODE to the Horseshoe Crab"/2003

    Poem by Nohra Corredor

    facing each other
    one on one,
    we confronted our mutual smiles.

    You came from far away
I showed up from here and then,
    and our lives met again
for whatever was there to stay.

    And it was OK
    to wear our eternal facade,
    all to ourselves,
    to enjoy and play
    for now and then.

    June 23, 2003, Greenport, NY
